My Element

I never realized how healing the Open Air is for me
I spent my life dancing in a box
And now I’m reminded of when I was three years old dancing by an outdoor fountain

The wind blowing my short hair into my eyes
Mist finding its way to my skin
As my mom witnessed my Freedom
I know that she saw the sense of Splendor

I have tired of observing behind a pane
Detached and Complacent
Give me the Elements
Force me to Adapt

Cycles of the Day
Demanding the Ebb & Flow

And even when I think I’m hiding
I’m Exposed.
